About this Course

The theoretical part of this course focuses on the importance of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in the context of the National Education Policy (NEP). Some focus areas of the course are how children learn, what are developmentally appropriate activities, how to plan ECE activities, etc. The course will be delivered in three stages -- online, face-to-face, and onsite mentoring. Participants will go through a 10 hrs module on a Learning Management System (LMS) that includes lecture videos, readings, self-assessments, and assignments during the online phase, develop domain-based instructional plan and TLMs during the face-to-face phase in Kolkata, and receive onsite mentoring in the concluding phase of the course. 

Medium of Instruction 

Bilingual. Course lectures will be in Hindi. PPTs and reading material will be in English.

About Vikramshila 

Vikramshila has over 30 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education (ECE). They currently support seven state governments in developing curriculum, training master trainers, home-based learning and responsive parenting, setting up model centers, etc. As a part of their collaboration with St. Xavier’s College (Kolkata), they had conducted a course on ECL (Montessori Method) for 15 years.

Shubhra Chatterji

Trained in Montessori Education, Shubhra has decades of experience as a teacher, as an Early Childhood Educator, and ECE curriculum developer for several states. She is currently a member of the advisory group for NCERT and a member of the state ECCE Council of West Bengal.

With more than eight years of experience in Training and Education, Dr. Rashim Pal specializes in planning and conducting large group training programs on various aspects of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). As a guest faculty at the School of Vocational Studies (SVS), Ambedkar University Delhi, she teaches Early Childhood Care and Education. Rashim has a Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education.

Riti has worked extensively as a senior trainer at Vikramshila’s Early Childhood Education interventions, both with Departments of Social Welfare and Department of Education across multiple states and contexts. She has a Master’s in Archaeology.

Namrata is a passionate education professional who works in early learning and elementary education with a focus on quality classroom instruction and pedagogy. She has worked in education for more than nine years, with a focus on early years and vocational education. She holds a master’s degree in Education (M.Ed) and M.Sc. Applied Psychology.

Debanjana has worked as a facilitator in various training programs on Early Childhood Education for Anganwadi workers and is currently engaged in designing and planning activity calendars for children in the age group of 3 - 6 years under the West Bengal government’s Home-based Parenting Program. She has done her Graduation in Sociology.

Vrinda has experience as a facilitator in UP SRG/ DLT training on early childhood care and education in collaboration with UNICEF, India. She is currently engaged in the implementation of an Early Childhood Education project in Assam. Vrinda has a master’s in Early Childhood Care and Education.
