Course Details

Evidence from neuroscience reveals that over 85% of a child’s cumulative brain development occurs before the age of six yeats. This shows the critical importance of preschool education to promote children’s sustained and healthy brain development and growth. There is a need for greater understanding among all relevant stakeholders regarding what constitutes quality ECCE and what are the relevant best practices. These stakeholders include Anganwadi teachers, parents, caregivers and civil society members. Makkala Jagriti's training program for practitioners seeks to fill these gaps. Topics to be covered include Introduction to ECCE, domains of development, setting up of learning spaces, and strategies for working with young children, among others. These will be combined with field visits and observations of best practices.
